|Gary Anthony James
Webb (born 8
March 1958), known professionally as Gary Numan, is an English singer,
songwriter, composer, musician and record producer. Born in Hammersmith,
West London, he first entered the music industry as lead singer of the new
wave band Tubeway Army. After releasing two albums with the band, Numan
released his debut solo album The Pleasure Principle in 1979.
With number-one singles "Are 'Friends' Electric?" and "Cars", Numan achieved his peak of mainstream popularity in the late 1970s and early 1980s, but maintains a cult following. His signature sound consists of heavy synthesiser hooks fed through guitar effects pedals, and he is considered a pioneer of commercial electronic music. Numan is also known for his distinctive voice and androgynous "android" persona. In 2017 he received an Ivor Novello Award, the Inspiration Award, from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers, and Authors.
The second North American Savage Tour will start on Sep 4th. We’ll be playing 27 shows in total, many of them in places we weren’t able to get to on the first North American Savage tour in 2017. This flyer lists 26 of those shows but there is one festival date still to be added as soon as they make their own official announcement about the line up. The support for this tour will be the excellent Nightmare Air.
A bit far for me to travel so I wont be at this one.

Return leg of his 2017 tour
and Gary Numan opens at the Pyramid Centre.
As per usual the legend does not disappoint, nice to see This Wreckage get a play as well.
No appearance of his daughter this time on My Name Is Ruin as she did at Brighton, I guess she has to go to school occasionally.
A very good support act in the form of Nightmare Air, they will require some looking up.
